While Dana White has developed a reputation for praising Jon Jones at every single opportunity, he hasn’t always been confident that ‘Bones’ has the minerals to beat Francis Ngannou.
In a surprising resurfaced clip, he told the polarizing star that he should move down to middleweight to steer clear of the Cameroonian.
Dana White said Jon Jones should go to middleweight to avoid Francis Ngannou
In recent times, Dana White has gone above and beyond to proclaim to the world just how good Jon Jones is.
With frightening elbows and unrivalled creativity in the cage, the American has certainly proved his credentials beyond doubt.
However, some believe that the UFC CEO’s comments regarding the polarizing star have gone a shade too far, especially considering his previous remarks about the New Yorker.
While the world is now united in hope that Jones will fight Tom Aspinall, fans previously craved a match-up between the controversial athlete and Francis Ngannou.

Back in 2021, ‘The Predator’ wiped out Stipe Miocic with a thunderous left hook to claim the UFC heavyweight title.
The performance sent shockwaves through the division, and even impressed White, who urged his pound-for-pound best of all time, to do whatever it took to avoid a potential showdown.
At the UFC 260 post-fight press conference, he said: “If I’m Jon Jones and I’m at home watching this fight, I start moving to 185lbs.”
When asked if that fight was a possibility, he replied: “Listen, I could sit here all day and tell you, what ‘Show me the money means’. You can say you want to fight someone, but do you really want to?”
Dana White says Dominick Reyes beat Jon Jones
Surprisingly, this isn’t the only video that has come to light indicating that White doesn’t think Jones is truly invincible.
Back at UFC 247, the controversial athlete defended his light heavyweight championship against Dominick Reyes in a fight that was shrouded in controversy.
While Jones rallied back in the later stages of the contest, most believed that ‘The Dominator’ won the first three rounds and ought to have claimed the title.
And by the sounds of things, at the time, White felt the exact same way.
