As he nears his UFC return, Khamzat Chimaev has looked impressive in training.

A lot of doubt has been cast upon 'Borz' of late, with the once touted 'best prospect in the sport' losing much of his hype. The dominant grappler has competed just once in almost two years, leaving much to be desired in his push for UFC gold.

It now looks like Khamzat Chimaev is back to his terrifying best ahead of his co-main event assignment at UFC 308.

Welcoming Luke Rockhold down for a grappling session, Chimaev made the former UFC and Strikeforce middleweight champion look amateurish.

The Russian proved he should be one of the most feared competitors in the division by ragdolling Rockhold — who is a 1st degree black belt under Leandro Vieira and Dave Camarillo.

Khamzat Chimaev's raw power was on display against a seemingly exhausted Luke Rockhold.

After rolling for some time, Chimaev finally set up the nasty armbar submission attempt.

While Rockhold defended well at first, he eventually folded to the power of Chimaev by what looked to be a verbal tap.

For the first time since his short-notice decision win over Kamaru Usman last year, Khamzat Chimaev returns to the cage.

Re-booking their previously scheduled bout, Chimaev will be welcomed back by Robert Whittaker. 'The Reaper' made short work of Ikram Aliskerov last time out — a man Chimaev believes was his toughest opponent to date.

Despite interest from Alex Pereira, many expect the winner of this middleweight affair to be next in line for a title shot.

Chimaev vs. Whittaker will go down at UFC 308 on October 26. The event will take place at the Etihad Arena in the United Arab Emirates.
