Kevin Holland provides clarity on recent fight rumors as undefeated prospect given the all-clear to fight in the U.S by manager

UFC fan favorite Kevin Holland has provided some clarity regarding recent fight rumors as undefeated prospect Shara Magomedov has reportedly been given the all-clear to fight in the United States.

False rumors broke over this past week that a fight was being put together for UFC Denver on July 13, between Kevin Holland and middleweight contender, Jared Cannonier.

Despite that, Cannonier is serving a 45-day medical suspension, following his controversial loss to Nassourdine Imavov a few weeks ago.

Although a fight between ‘The Trailblazer’ and Cannonier won’t happen, yet, Holland has admitted that he is still hopeful of fighting on the UFC Denver card.

The 31-year-old was recently called out by undefeated Russian prospect, Shara ‘Bullet’ Magomedov. The 30-year-old continued his unbeaten streak this past weekend at UFC Saudi Arabia, knocking out Antonio Trocoli in the third round.

“I would say July 13th (to fight Shara Magomedov), I’ve been campaigning for that date, and I got a phone call saying something about that day sounded good so, I like the way it sounds,” Holland told The Schmo.

“If nobody can do it, they’re saying he can’t fight here because he has one eye, I think we can make the fight happen in Mexico. I’m not going overseas but we have to find somewhere that can (allow) it with one eye,” the 31-year-old added.

Holland last fought at UFC 302 earlier this month, submitting Michal Oleksiejczuk in the first round.

Shara Magomedov reportedly given the all-clear to fight in the U.S

There may not be an issue with Magomedov fighting in the United States, as his manager, Ali Abdelaziz, has reportedly had meetings with the UFC recently, with there being nothing preventing the Russian from fighting in the country.

‘Bullet’ is currently in Las Vegas for the UFC Hall of Fame ceremony, and while he has been there, he has filmed his callout video for Holland.

“Kevin Holland, the real pirate here, Shara Bullet in the USA. I k*ll you, on July 13. Let’s go fight. I k*ll you, take your head home, Kevin Holland let’s go,” the 30-year-old stated.

Although his manager has claimed there is nothing preventing him from fighting in the States, there has been no official confirmation or word from the promotion yet.

Having said that, the UFC will be looking to bulk up their UFC Denver card, after it has recently seen a few fights fall.

Middleweight prospect, Mike Malott was scheduled to take on Gilbert Urbina, but the Canadian pulled out earlier this week.

Former strawweight champion, Rose Namajunas, was scheduled to take on Maycee Barber in the main event, however, Barber withdrew earlier this week, with Tracy Cortez now stepping in to take on ‘Thug’ Rose.

Despite that, the bout has been changed to a three-round co-main event, with the promotion still expected to announce the main event and Holland and Magomedov will be hoping they’re given the call.
