Jorge Masvidal names Leon Edwards and others as ideal opponents for UFC return

With rumors of his UFC comeback beginning to ramp up, Jorge Masvidal has listed several names who he'd love to face upon his return.

'Gamebred' has been enjoying life outside the octagon of late. Alongside the running of his own bare knuckle MMA promotion, the fan-favorite competed in his first boxing match in 19 years on July 6, but now looks destined to return to the cage.

After announcing his plans to unretire earlier this month, Jorge Masvidal stated that he's waiting to see how things unfold in the division before making his next move.

"Hopefully the UFC and me can come to a date," Masvidal said regarding his imminent return to the sport. "Then rock and roll from there, you know."

"So, we're just going to wait right now. See what lines up, see what opens up, and see who I could chop down."

Masvidal later called out a number of potential opponents, including long-term rival Leon Edwards.

"Those two names [Leon Edwards and Michael Chandler] I would like. I wouldn't mind getting in the cage with them dudes."

"Nothing personal against Mike. I like Mike, I seen his rise since Bellator. I've been watching Mike for a long time do his thing in fighting. But, I think it'd just be like a very fun fight, a very big fight."

"Then, the me and Leon fight. We've always had our differences, so why not settle them in the cage? It's the best way to do it, you know. So, what's up?"

After dismissing a potential Conor McGregor matchup, Jorge Masvidal turned his attention Nick Diaz.

"I don't know what Nate's current situation with the UFC is or isn't," Masvidal said regarding a third fight with Nate Diaz. "So, I don't know."

"He's not on the roster, right? So I don't want to try to get a fantasy fight going. I just want to get a fight."

"Maybe his brother because his brother's on the roster. But, I think his brother has a fight lined up... Maybe after that fight, I don't know. I just want to f*** somebody up."
