Joe Rogan believes UFC 303 star is 'the most difficult puzzle on the feet' he's ever seen, and it's not Pereira or Prochazka

While UFC 303 is set to showcase a main event between Alex Pereira and Jiri Prochazka, there’s another striker on the card who’s caught the attention of Joe Rogan.

The world’s premier mixed martial arts promotion is set to roll into the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA on Saturday night.

Joe Rogan believes Ian Garry will struggle to overcome the brilliance of Michael ‘Venom’ Page

While the headline attraction between Alex Pereira and Jiri Prochazka is bound to excite, Joe Rogan can’t wait to watch Michael ‘Venom’ Page showcase his skills.

Blessed with a phenomenal array of punches and kicks, the Londoner has compiled an awe-inspiring resume of highlight-reel knockouts.

Since making the transition from kickboxing to MMA, Page has proven himself as a formidable fighter, capable of competing at the highest level of the UFC.

In his last outing, he dazzled Kevin Holland, impressing fans as he cruised to a unanimous decision victory.

However, he has a fearsome test this weekend in the form of Ian Garry. The undefeated Irishman has so much potential, with some believing he has the talent to emulate Conor McGregor.

Regardless, Rogan is worried for the Dubliner, claiming he’ll struggle to match the striking prowess of ‘MVP’.

During an episode of ‘JRE Fight Companion‘, he explained: "I think he's sensational, but he's been hit before, and he's gotten rocked and dropped. Michael 'Venom' Page is a different thing inside the octagon. I think he's going to have a really hard time finding that guy.”

In the 27 years Rogan has worked with the UFC, never has he seen a striker and indeed performer, quite like MVP.

He added: "The difference with Michael 'Venom' Page is Michael 'Venom' Page is an elite point fighter. His style of hitting and not getting hit and being able to close distance really fast, f****** nobody is like that.

“'Wonderboy' was a kickboxer, a very elite striker, a very elite kickboxer. But the difference between kickboxing and point fighting is that blitz, and Michael 'Venom' Page is so unorthodox.

"Michael 'Venom' Page has never been in a boring fight in his f***** life. He's an entertainer. I just think that he's the most difficult puzzle on the feet I've ever seen. Kevin Holland couldn't do a f***** thing to him. Kevin Holland is a good striker, a very good striker.

“He's a complete fighter, but he's a very good striker. He didn't even come close to hitting him. Like, that dude was just not there. It's a different thing, man, and he's tall as s***."

And by the looks of things, it isn’t just Page’s skills that Garry needs to worry about, but his mind games as well.

Michael Venom Page brands Ian Garry a ‘fake Conor McGregor’

While MVP is renowned for his versatility in the cage, he’s equally famous for his eccentric personality.

Whether it’s his wild Pokemon-themed celebrations, or his unrelenting trash-talk, the Brit always knows how to make waves.

And he’s certainly not been shy of putting his opponent on trial throughout the build-up to their eagerly-anticipated clash.

Throughout his career, Garry has received criticism for his similarities to McGregor. Whether it’s his flashy suits, formidable confidence, or simply the way he holds himself, fans have taken note.

Keen to forge his own legacy, Garry has worked hard to prove he’s not just the second coming of ‘The Notorious’ but a world-class mixed martial artist in his own right. However, MVP isn’t keen to let the topic drop, recently roasting his rival during an interview with ESPN.

He said: "My thing is, he is a fake version of Conor McGregor. I understand he is inspired by him, but I think he is trying a bit too hard to walk the same path instead of walking his own path.”

Whether Garry ever has copied ‘The Notorious’ or not, we’ll never know. Regardless, Page issued a stark warning in his rival’s direction about what can happen if you imitate someone else, rather than driving down your own road.
