Ahead of his clash against Jamahal Hill this coming Saturday at UFC 311, Jiri Prochazka has attempted to convince fans he could finally beat Alex Pereira.

At UFC 311 this coming Saturday, former UFC light heavyweight champions, Jiri Prochazka and Jamahal Hill will clash, with both hopeful of returning to title contention.

Both fighters were handed losses by current champion, Alex Pereira, during 2024, with ‘Sweetdreams’ being put to sleep by ‘Poatan’ at UFC 300 in April, and Prochazka suffered his second loss to the Brazilian at UFC 303.

The blockbuster UFC 311 event is still scheduled to take place from Inglewood California despite the terrifying wildfires, however, UFC CEO Dana White has stated that if it gets worse, the event will be moved to Las Vegas.

Jiri Prochazka tries to convince fans he can finally beat Alex Pereira

Pereira’s next title defense is likely to come against Russian number one contender, Magomed Ankalaev, and if the 37-year-old gets past what is being touted as his toughest test so far, he has hinted at a move to heavyweight.

Despite that, Prochazka has attempted to convince fans that he can finally beat Pereira, stating that he is chasing a trilogy fight against the Brazilian.

For several years now, the former light heavyweight champion has come under scrutiny for his bizarre training methods and fans have continuously pleaded with him to adapt his style to a more traditional MMA style.

With that, the 32-year-old has claimed that he has adapted his style, which he thinks is now capable of dethroning Pereira.

“For me, both fights (against Pereira) showed me a lot,” Prochazka began to explain to MMAJunkie.

“The thing is, I mean this really seriously… I believe that I’ve made improvements in my style, of my life, in everything that I can face Alex Pereira for a third time. Sorry, I believe in that, I really believe that I can be the champion and I’m going for that, to be a champion again, no more words,” he continued.

Although Prochazka is currently ranked number two in the 205lb division with only Ankalaev ahead of him, if ‘Poatan’ gets past the Russian, he will likely want another new challenge, whether it be at heavyweight or a new light heavyweight contender.

Fellow kickboxer, Carlos Ulberg is scheduled to take on former champion Jan Blachowicz at UFC 312, and a win for ‘Black Jag’ could see him jump to next in line.

With that, Pereira has revealed on social media this past Monday that he has ‘good news’ coming this week, teasing at potential fight news.

“See you soon boy,” Ankalaev told the champion on X.
