Dana White will go "Head to Head" with Boxing if needed, UFC Noche annual event

Noche UFC, the UFC event to commemorate Mexican Independence Day, was so successful in its inaugural event that the fight promotion has decided to make it an annual event.

"Let me tell you about this text I got today.  'Dana, your idea to go all-in on Mexican Independence Day paid off.  Noche UFC was the most watched Fight Night of all time on ESPN+, 1.1 million unique viewers.'  1.1 million people that had never been to ESPN+ tuned in for that fight.  So think about that.  'Generated 167 million total minutes. Yeah, and it did 3x the average viewership minutes watches on the Spanish feed.'  Killed it.  It was an incredible success," said Dana White

"I will get that date every year from now on," continued White.

UFC willing to go Head to Head with Boxing

Mexican Independence Day (Sept. 16) is a typically a big day for boxing.  It may soon be a big day for mixed martial arts as well.

What usually has been a date for boxing, this year the Canelo vs. Charlo bout chose a different weekend (Sept. 30), Dana White made it clear that he will go against any event on that date.

"I will go that date every (year).  I don't care if somebody here in town gets the date in the arena.  I will go in an opposing arena and go head to head with them next year.  I'm doing this for the rest of my reign here," White said.

"They can go on the same night.  We'll go head to head.  I'm going.  This thing was a massive success for us.  This was something I've been thinking about the day we bought the company.  We're finally in the position.  All my chips are in on Mexico."
