Dana White's Contender Series, Week 5 results: Three UFC contracts awarded

Dana White's Contender Series gives up and coming prospects to the opportunity to perform in front of UFC CEO Dana White and potentially earn a UFC contract.  On Tuesday, the fifth week of the eighth season took place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.  

The fight card featured four fights and was headlined by a light heavyweight clash between Navajo Stirling and Phillip Latu.  

A lightweight bout between Quemuel Ottoni and Kody Steele was cancelled after Ottoni withdrew from the match moments before it was to begin.

Following the event, White awarded three fighters UFC contracts.  Navajo Stirling, Josias Musasa, and Nicolle Caliari earned their shots in the big show.

  • Yousri Belgaroui def. Taiga Iwasaki via TKO (knee and punches) at 2:34, Round 2
  • Josias Musasa def. Otari Tanzilov via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28)
  • Nicolle Caliari def. Corrine Laframboise via submission (armbar) at 4:45, Round 1
