Dan Hooker would love nothing more than to ‘snake’ the Conor McGregor fight off Michael Chandler, and take all the glory for himself.

Dan Hooker wants to steal the Conor McGregor fight off Michael Chandler

On Saturday evening, Dan Hooker went to war with Mateusz Gamrot in a clash that left the crowd on the edge of their seats.

The pair of sporting titans traded bombs in a brutal war of attrition, with ‘The Hangman’ eventually claiming the victory.

The contest earned both men a tasty $50,000 Fight of the Night bonus. However, the Auckland native wasn’t focused on the money — he was fixated on Conor McGregor.

With Hooker having propelled himself right back into the big time, he told Daniel Cormier in his post-fight interview that he’s hunting down a match-up with ‘The Notorious’.

But, while the fight would make a lot of sense for the 34-year-old in both the legacy and financial department, Michael Chandler is still very much in line to fight McGregor next.

However, Hooker has absolutely no problem with pulling the rug from beneath the American’s feet.

He told TheMacLife: “Because I am an absolute troll, so, the biggest troll move you could do of all time is to snake that fight off Chandler. He waits all that time, and then Conor just fights me anyway. That would be gold. I would feel like the biggest snake troll of all time. I’d get my black belt in trollympics.”

Dan Hooker has another fight in mind

If the Kiwi fails in his quest to secure a clash with McGregor, he’d more than settle for a monster bout with a different legend.

Following his victory at the weekend, he not only called out the Dubliner, but also one of the most popular fighters in the sport.

The potential match-up would undeniably set the world alight, with the pair of savages willing to walk through fire to secure the win.

Thus, when he mentioned the name of the potential opponent to Cormier, the crowd went wild.
