Conor McGregor attacks 'inbred' Islam Makhachev amid staph infection scare

Something unusual has been spotted on Islam Makhachev's leg, prompting Conor McGregor to verbally attack the UFC lightweight champion.

Makhachev is just days away from a title defense matchup against Dustin Poirier. The Russian has looked almost unstoppable up to this point, making easy work of both Charles Oliveira and Alexander Volkanovski to rightfully earn the #1 spot on the pound-for-pound rankings.

With UFC 302 fast approaching, Islam Makhachev may have a serious problem. In a recent photograph, a staph infection seems to have developed on the champion's leg. Because of this, Conor McGregor spearheaded an attack on Makhachev and his team.

"Staph again. This inbred, however, lives with staph," McGregor said on X. "This team is infested, make no mistake."

"Scruff balls. Whatever ya's are into, I suppose. He still subs Dustin [Poirier] in the 1st."

McGregor has long held a rivalry with the team of Khabib Nurmagomedov. The two openly dislike one another, and 'The Notorious' has spoken negatively of his counterpart at every opportunity.

The Irishman later continued his verbal assault, holding nothing back when referring to Makhachev and those around him.

"Yous absolute scruffy f***s, I'm sick of yous. Wash your f***ing self! Wash your clothes! Wash your mats! And do it f***ing everyday you scruffy c**ts."
