BKFC strips welterweight champion Gorjan Slaveski of title after accepting fight without permission

Gorjan Slaveski has been stripped of his BKFC welterweight title.

The bare-knuckle fighting promotion announced the news Thursday, stating that Slaveski accepted a fight outside the organization without first receiving permission.

Slaveski is currently slated to face Brandon Jenkins as part of the Karate Combat 43 card on Friday, which is headlined by Anthony Pettis vs. Benson Henderson.

"Unfortunately, Gorjan accepted a fight outside the organization without our approval which resulted in BKFC stripping him of his welterweight title," BKFC President David Feldman said in a statement. "We will have a further announcement forthcoming about the now vacant welterweight title."

During his career with BKFC, Slaveski amassed a perfect 6-0 record with four wins by knockout. He claimed the BKFC welterweight title in his most recent outing this past August when he defeated UFC and Bellator veteran Jake Lindsey by unanimous decision.

Now, four months later, Slaveski has been stripped of his title, with BKFC planning on crowning a new champion sometime in 2024.
