Alex Pereira was rendered furious by a comment Magomed Ankalaev made about him.

On Saturday night, at UFC 313, inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, ‘Poatan’ will attempt to defend his light heavyweight title against a man many believe to be his kryptonite.

Throughout fight week, Pereira has been in good spirits, wrestling with Daniel Cormier, and smiling during his media duties.

However, during one interview, he addressed something his rival said that has gotten under his skin.

In an inspirational story, Alex Pereira overcame an alcohol problem, to scale the mountain in not just one but two sports, with the striker picking up world titles in Glory kickboxing and the UFC.

Therefore, when Magomed Ankalaev made a comment about him drinking, the reigning 205-pound King wasn’t best pleased.

In an interview on Daniel Cormier’s YouTube channel, Pereira, said: “I know that he’s been talking a lot. The only thing I took personal, was that he was talking about alcoholism, because that’s not only offending me but my family.

“Ankalaev said I was just going to UFC events to get drunk and get clout. I took that personal because I beat alcoholism; it’s a win in life.”
