Juddmonte's Bluestocking Prevails In Vermeille Battle

Showing that her busy recent period of racing had left no mark on Sunday, Juddmonte's Bluestocking (GB) (Camelot {GB}–Emulous {GB}, by Dansili {GB}) enjoyed a battle royal up the ParisLongchamp straight to edge the G1 Qatar Prix Vermeille from Aventure (Ire) (Sea The Stars {Ire}). Second in the G1 King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes and fourth in the G1 Juddmonte International this summer, the Ralph Beckett-trained G1 Pretty Polly Stakes winner stuck close to the early pace with Rossa Ryan keen to surrender no advantage.

Left in front at the top of the straight, the 27-10 favourite was tackled by the Wertheimers' fellow TDN Rising Star Aventure and headed for a few strides, but refused to buckle and fought her way back to the front en route to a 3/4-of-a-length success from the 3-year-old, with Emily Upjohn (GB) (Sea The Stars {Ire}) half a length away in third.
