The Ravens' new discount concession pricing deserves a standing ovation

Buying food in 2025 sucks, but at least the Baltimore Ravens are making things easier on the fans who attend their games. On Tuesday the team announced its new, re-vamped concessions pricing for 2025 and in the money-grubbing world of the NFL they've decided to make things ludicrously cheap.

It's become commonplace to spend hundreds of dollars on seeing an NFL game live once you're done with buying tickets, parking, concessions, and maybe a souvenir — but the Ravens are at least knocking one of those down with the possibility of a family of four eating decently at the game for under $40.

With hot dogs as low as $3.49, with beer and soda being under $5 each it's one of the best deals in the NFL, surpassed only by the Atlanta Falcons' legendary $2 hot dogs and $3 fries. What the Ravens have done is a rare example of a team doing right by its fans, and every single organization in the NFL should follow suit. It shouldn't put immense financial pressure on a family to see a football game in person, especially when everything else in the world costs so much.

Now, in the Ravens' $40 example I'll admit their menu is a little meager for a full family for three straight hours of a game — but it's definitely attainable.

What if you're an individual watching the game? What is the best possible way to get out for under $20 and feel like you had a full experience without skimping on anything?

Drink a couple of beers at the tailgate, one when you arrive, then slow it down with some water and food. You're out the door for $18.95. You couldn't get this much at most sports bars for that price.

It doesn't matter if you hate the Ravens, every single NFL fan should support this kind of thing, because pressure will lead to more NFL teams understanding that fans both want, and need better concessions pricing — especially in smaller markets.
