Lottie Woad had quite the opening round in Scotland.

Lottie Woad is not wasting any time as a professional (in an official capacity).

The recently-turned pro was grouped with Nelly Korda and Charley Hull for the opening round of the Scottish Open and cleared them both (although just barely) to post a 5-under round. Woad sits tied for the lead after 18 holes.

To be clear, the group was a featured one for the right reasons as Korda ended the day at 4-under and Hull three more strokes back. All three players finishing under par is what you expect to see and we certainly got that.

Woad has been phenomenal in Europe as of late and won the KPMG Women's Irish Open just a few weeks ago. That all happened in the blur of her officially turning professional so it goes without saying that life has been somewhat thrilling for her lately.

Whether or not Lottie can turn that into a win in Scotland remains to be seen, but she is in strong position after the first round.
