Florida State Seminole Luke Clanton to make professional debut at RBC Canadian Open

Luke Clanton is making his professional debut this week in Canada.

The world of golf seems to have been spinning a bit more rapidly than usual lately.

In just the last couple of weeks we have seen play conclude in the NCAA Championships, the U.S. Women's Open, the Memorial Tournament and Golf's Longest Day ahead of next week's U.S. Open's Open. That is flying at 30,000 feet, but you get the picture.

Up next on the men's side of things is the RBC Canadian Open and it will feature someone who was a part of a bit of all of that fun in Florida State's Luke Clanton. If you do not follow the collegiate or amateur side of golf all too well... Clanton has had one of the most decorated careers that a player possibly can on that level.

Clanton notched four top-10 finishes in 13 starts on Tour while as an amateur just for perspective on what he can do at the professional level. In his five starts this season he has two top-20 finishes as he had a T15 at the Farmers and T18 at the Cognizant Classic.

Throughout his time in Tallahassee the Seminoles benefitted greatly from Luke's play. He totaled a staggering seven individual titles in college, four of which came during the season that we just finished.

Clanton was recently named the winner of this year's Ben Hogan Award which is the highest individual achievement one can attain within the ranks of college golf. He was the second player in FSU history to earn it (John Pak in 2021).

Golf is a unique world where you can be playing for a national championship one minute and then, seemingly, five later be competing on the professional circuit next to the very best in the game.

That is what life is now like for Luke Clanton. He appears ready for it.
