Xander Schauffele and Rory McIlroy duel atop the leaderboard on a busy Saturday at 2024 Wells Fargo Championship

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Fans packed the course from tee to green on Saturday, and the players did not disappoint on Moving Day at Quail Hollow Club.

Xander Schauffele’s four-shot lead after 36 holes was the largest in Wells Fargo Championship history, but with just 18 holes to go in the Queen City, the world No. 4 has just a one-shot lead with the world No. 2 Rory McIlroy – a three-time winner at Quail Hollow – in hot pursuit.

Saturday’s third round of action featured a handful of eye-scratching shots, a touching tribute for a lost European legend and plenty more. Here’s what you missed from a busy day of golf at the 2024 Wells Fargo Championship.
