What to expect from Odyssey's AI-One Cruiser line, 2024's most anticipated putter launch

Odyssey’s new Odyssey’s AI-One Cruiser putters have already seen success on the PGA Tour – but the rest of us will have to wait for their March 15 commercial release date.

Those wins might make the Odyssey’s AI-One Cruiser line the most anticipated putter launch of 2024.

Within the line, one model is attracting the most attention and that is the Odyssey Ai-One Cruiser Jailbird putter.

The launch of this line means a Jailbird putter will be available for general sale for the first time ever.

Odyssey have waited until perhaps the best possible moment to spring the Jailbird on us as the putter is counterbalanced with the distinctive alignment scheme, added Cruiser stability, and an Ai-One insert for crisper contact on the green.

Little wonder that there is a rush on for this club in particular with testers most eager to try this club out.

These clubs could spark another resurgence in popularity for the counterbalanced putter with Odyssey finding a way to get their tech spot on with standard-length clubs.

The cruiser schematic’s return will be all about stability but there is a warning attached to this in that a counterbalanced putter might not resolve everyone’s issues on the green.

The Odyssey Ai-ONE Cruiser Line comes in three unique configurations: arm lock, broomstick and cruiser.

These configurations are designed to go with three different putting techniques.

Throughout the range, there will be five distinct models, but all of them have the new Ai-ONE insert that Odyssey introduced by the end of 2023.

To assist players in leaving putts closer to the hole on mishits that are off-center, the new Ai-One inlays have different thickness levels along their faces based on models of thousands upon thousands of putts.

The putters in this lineup have a heavier steel shaft than the Odyssey Ai-ONE and Ai-ONE milled ranges.

Alongside the Cruiser Liner, Stroke Lab steel 90-gram shafts increase to 140- and 200-gram shafts, which serve to accentuate the putter’s greater overall length, heavier head, and longer grips.

It is possible to set interchangeable weights at 5, 10, 15, or 20 grams for each of the five putter heads.

Wyndham Clark fired a course-record 60 using the Odyssey Ai-One Jailbird Cruiser at Pebble Beach.

The Sunday before the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, Clark decided to try the new flatstick, and it turned out to be a wise decision as the Oregon Alum flirted with the number that makes all golfers salivate.

Clark smashed yet another record at Pebble Beach Golf Links sinking a hair under 190 feet worth of putts during his round.
