WATCH: LIV cameraman struck in chest while filming on course

You’ll notice that some social media videos have shots of golf that are really taken from unique angles.

To achieve this sometimes the cameraman has to put himself in harm’s way.

This chap, filming for LIV Golf with former Open champion Cam Smith, has kitted himself out with some shinguards.

It is a pity that he didn’t get hit in the shins.

We’d suggest a cricket chest protector or hockey goalie gear next time.

Filming and golf

Be aware before you film any aspect of your own round that the course is if not actually a public space then most definitely a shared one.

Golfers take great satisfaction in using appropriate manners when playing the game. It is a unique sport because of its strong emphasis on etiquette.

Numerous youthful golfers have introduced the sport to social media, particularly TikTok.

Although there’s a trend on the internet that completely disregards golf etiquette, you can still think this is a terrific approach to share the love of the game and spark interest in it.

It’s becoming more difficult to teach new golfers the appropriate technique because of the internet.

There’s been a recent trend on TikTok when golfers wilfully break the laws of the game. The things shown in these videos might not only have you quickly taken off the course, but they also pose a risk to others who might be out enjoying a round of golf. Similar films show individuals jumping into water hazards, getting run over by golf carts, and even causing damage to the course.

The media has affected people’s golfing habits before. Happy Gilmore, which came out in 1996, encouraged people to tee up their ball, rush up to it, and swing as hard as they could.

Happy Gilmore, played by Adam Sandler, became a golfing role model as a result of the film’s success and around $39 million in box office receipts. The success of the movie caused everyone to start striking their drivers like Happy. Driving ranges had to post signs prohibiting “Happy Gilmore swings!”
