WATCH: How easy is it to spot the golfer in the office?

When it comes to spotting the golfer in the office, some hints are much stronger than others.

It’s worth saying first of all that some will draw a strong distinction between people who play golf and golfers.

It is most likely that the golfer will be the one drawing such a distinction between themselves and the ‘filthy casual’. And it isn’t based on whether or not someone is well-equipped on the course or even a member of a club.

Those who simply play golf don’t allow the beautiful obsession to destroy their lives utterly.

The golfer’s obsession with the sport is utterly fatal and their drive to improve yields a considerable variation in actual results.

In an office environment, the golfer will often be incapable of focusing on a mundane task if some aspect of their game is bothering them, and there will always be an aspect of their game that is bothering them.

You can see just how easy it is to spot the office golfer.

If you haven’t sunk yourself into becoming a golfer, it is never too late.

The Super Seniors Tour throws up some incredible reminders of what the old hands can do on the course and golf is becoming an increasingly popular sport as many realise that it is far more accessible than many think it is.

The more the sport proliferates the more accessible it becomes as it happens with new players contributing to growing the golfing economy as it were by either buying new clubs, getting them second-hand or even upgrading and selling their old gear.

As with any second-hand market or direct seller situation, players should be wary of being scammed when trying to get clubs on the cheap and don’t be afraid to take some advice before plunging into a purchase.

New golfers should at least familiarise themselves with their nearby Pro Shops, which as we know are not all created equal. At their best though they are an invaluable service to any golfer and a great place to get steered right on the sport.

As much as someone who considers themselves to be a golfer might want to take their journey into their own hands finding a good pro or coach to help you out is something that is really worthwhile. Sometimes spending a little money on coaching will do more than expensive club upgrades or game improvement clubs.
