WATCH: All five holes-in-one from the 2024 Masters Par 3 contest

The Masters Par 3 contest is known for producing spectacular aces, with over 100 sunk since the event started in 1960.

Augusta National’s nine-hole par-3 layout is just a stone’s throw from the tournament course, but the contest itself is worlds away from the intense atmosphere of the Masters.

Far more relaxed, players often pull off some truly remarkable shots to sink stunning holes-in-one and thrill the crowds that pack into Augusta for a Masters starter.

Players sign up to compete in groups of three players, with their significant others and children also traditionally being allowed to enjoy the action from inside the ropes – caddying and sometimes even hitting a few shots.

Aces abound in the contest and are a big reason that the crowds turn up to watch the lighthearted exhibition.

Luke List

Georgia hero Luke List made the first ace of the Par 3 Contest early on.

The Augusta resident spun it back and in at the 140-yard sixth hole to get the crowds on their feet.

Gary Woodland

Gary Woodland recorded the day’s second ace also on the 140-yard, par-3 sixth hole; his tee shot landed roughly 30 feet long right of the flag but spun back softly, dripping in the hole with perfect pace in a magical moment for Woodland. It marks Woodland’s first ace at the Par 3 Contest as he makes his return to Augusta for the first time since undergoing brain surgery.

Sepp Straka

Austria’s Sepp Straka made an ace at the 142-yard fifth to claim the day’s third hole-in-one overall, with the first two coming at No 6.

The ball landed just a few feet past the hole and spun in; Straka leaps into the air as the ball drops into the cup in a moment of pure unbridled joy.

Lucas Glover

Lucas Glover made Wednesday’s first ace at No 7, and the day’s fourth hole-in-one overall.

His shot might have been the best of all the aces sunk on the day.

Glover’s tee shot landed on the green’s back-right portion, with some 50 feet of green between the landing spot and the hole. However, the shot carried plenty of zip and released all the way back into the hole.

The Clemson alum threw his hands in the air and collected the high-fives from his playing partners Brian Harman and Harris English, along with his family on the scene.

Viktor Hovland

Finally, Viktor Hovland also managed an ace on No 6, the third of the day, and fifth overall across the contest.
