QUIZ: Can you name every non-US winner of the US Open in the 21st century?

The US Open holds a special place in the history of golf, and its prestige and monumental prize money make it a sought-after title.

There have been many winners of the tournament who were homegrown talents, but in the 21st century, the foreign influence has been significantly felt.

Established in 1895, an American didn’t win the US Open until 1911, with the inaugural winner being English professional Horace Rawlins.

Scotland’s Willie Anderson was the first man to win the US Open in a playoff when he claimed the 1901 title and the first man to win the title twice when he won another playoff two years later. He was the early pacesetter for titles as he followed up that second win with another two titles on the bounce in 1904 and 1905 winning three in a row altogether.

Anderson, Bobby Jones, Ben Hogan and Jack Nicklaus hold the record for the most US Open victories, with four titles to each of their names.

The 2023 title was won by an American with Wyndham Clark claiming his maiden major at Los Angeles Country Club.

"I just felt like my mom was watching over me today and you know she can't be here. Miss you mom," said an emotional Clark.

"I've worked so hard and I've dreamed about this moment for so long. There's been so many times I've visualized being here in front of you guys and winning this championship.

"I just feel like it was my time."

The youngest winner of the US Open is also the first American to claim the title – John McDermott was 19 years, 10 months and 14 days old when he won in 1911.

Hale Irwin is the oldest winner of the tournament taking his third championship at Medinah Country Club when he was 45 years and 15 days old in 1990.

There have been 10 non-US winners of the US Open in this current century, but do you think you can name them all?

To help you out, six of the 10 non-US winners of the US Open this century are from Europe, with four more accounting for five of the 11 titles won by players from outside the United of America in the 21st century.
