Justin Thomas came out firing, star-studded top 10 and more from first round of 2024 Genesis Scottish Open

Justin Thomas hasn’t had his best stuff over the last few years, even missing the FedEx Cup Playoffs last season. Well, it looks like he found something over the last few weeks as he holds the 18-hole outright lead at the 2024 Genesis Scottish Open.

The world No. 26 fired a bogey-free 8-under 62 around The Renaissance Club Thursday, ranking T-1 in scrambling (4/4) and T-5 in putts per green in regulation (1.43). Thomas’ one-shot advantage is over Sungjae Im, who entered the week with six T-12 or better finishes over his last eight starts.

The rest of the top 10 is loaded with star power as Ludvig Aberg is tied for third at 6 under and Rory McIlroy, Tommy Fleetwood, Corey Conners and Collin Morikawa are tied for eighth at 5 under.

If you missed any of the action on Thursday, no worries, we have you covered. Here’s everything you need to know from the opening round of the Genesis Scottish Open.
