Chris Kirk holds off late challengers to win PGA Tour's first event of 2024 at The Sentry in Hawaii

The PGA Tour made its return to competition this week in Hawaii and the boys didn't disappoint.

Sunday at the 2024 Sentry, the first event of the Tour's new season, 10 players finished within five shots of the lead and the final-round leaderboard featured a three-way tie at the top down the closing stretch.

In the end, it was 38-year-old Chris Kirk who came out on top at 29 under at Kapalua’s Plantation Course in Hawaii after an 8-under 65 in the final round. The win is the sixth of his career and first since the 2023 Honda Classic.

Sahith Theegala (63) finished second at 28 under while Jordan Spieth (65) finished third at 27 under. Sungjae Im, who finished T-5 at 25 under, recorded the most birdies in a 72-hole event since 1983 this week with a whopping 34.

The Tour continues its swing around the islands this week with the Sony Open in Hawaii, Jan. 11-14, at Waialae Country Club in Honolulu.
