Darts final smashes viewing records for Sky Sports thanks to Luke Littler

The PDC Darts World Championship final between Luke Littler and Luke Humphries was watched by a record-breaking 4.8 million people on TV.

The exciting contest which took place at Alexandra Palace in London aired on Sky Sports.

The sporting battle between the number one ranked player in the world and the youngest ever finalist, which was eventually won by Humphries 7-4, proved a hit with the viewers.

It was also reported by Evening Standard that it reached a peak audience of 3.71m.

Sports promoter Eddie Hearn reacted to the news and wrote: ‘Highest ever non football audience on @SkySports – darts is MASSIVE!’

The future is looking very bright for Luke!
