The Bahrain Darts Masters may not be the biggest event of the PDC season, but it will receive plenty of attention as Luke Littler makes his first appearance since the World Championship.
The 16-year-old came up short against Luke Humphries in the World Championship final but his amazing at Alexandra Palace has earned him a spot in the upcoming World Series events and Premier League.
‘It’s back to business for me now,’ said the teenager. ‘I’ve chilled out and not really thrown many darts since the World Championship final, but I’m sure that once I’m in the practice room I’ll be alright.
‘I like playing all the time but after the World Championship I wanted to get away, which me and the family did. Hopefully I can have a good event here to get back playing.
‘I’m in this event in Bahrain, in the Dutch Darts Masters next week and then the Premier League. I don’t really have any goals, I’m just going to have to see what the darts do.’
The Bahrain Darts Masters sees eight of the world’s best play eight Asian representatives in the opening round on Thursday, before the tournament is played down to a finish on Friday.
Michael Smith lifted the eye-catching trophy last year and is back to defend it, along with the likes of world champion Humphries, Michael van Gerwen and Peter Wright.
