Tony Bellew claims Anthony Joshua has stopped Deontay Wilder talks to set up Tyson Fury fight

Tony Bellew thinks Anthony Joshua is no longer in negotiations for a fight with Deontay Wilder.

Instead, the Brit has reportedly opted to explore a clash with his fellow countryman, Tyson Fury, in Africa.

The latest news out of both Joshua and Wilder’s camps had been that the pair were in talks to fight in Saudi Arabia early next year.

And Wilder had even suggested they were working on a two-fight deal for one bout in Saudi Arabia and one bout in Africa.

But Bellew, who is friends with both Joshua and his promoter Eddie Hearn, has heard contradictory information.

The Liverpudlian told Bitcoin Casinos: "I am hearing rumours that [talks between AJ & Wilder's camps] have stopped at the minute and [AJ's camp] are looking more towards Fury vs AJ again instead of AJ and Wilder.

“The talk is of another fight going to Africa, which would be absolutely incredible.

“Rumble in the Jungle all over again in Zaire or something along those lines."

Fury and Joshua have attempted to make a fight on a number of occasions but it has never come to fruition.

In 2021, AJ and Fury looked set to fight, but then an arbitrator ruled that ‘The Gypsy King’ had to take on Wilder in a trilogy instead.

And then the pair looked good to go once again late last year, but negotiations collapsed almost as quickly as they started and Fury instead went on to fight Derek Chisora in a trilogy bout.
