The most ridiculous things Floyd Mayweather has spent money on including £14million watch, diamond-encrusted iPod and disposable underwear

Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather certainly lives up to his nickname.

The boxing legend amassed $1.1 billion (£864m) during his 21-year tenure in professional boxing and continues to pocket lucrative paydays in exhibition bouts to this day.

‘TBE’ earned $65m (£51m) for his non-scoring bout with YouTube star Logan Paul while his professional outings against Manny Pacquiao and Conor McGregor saw him bank $250m (£196m) and $280m (£220m) respectively.

As much as Mayweather has a knack for making money, he is also very adept at spending it.

Among his most expensive purchases are a £21m mansion in Los Angeles, a fleet of private jets, and a 100-ft yacht – but none of those rank among his most ludicrous purchases.

Here, talkSPORT.com looks at five of the most ridiculous things Mayweather has spent money on.

A full-time barber who charges £815 per haircut

Jackie Starr doesn’t come cheap

Mayweather gets a haircut and beard shape-up from his own personal barber three times per week.

During an interview with TMZ in 2016, Jackie Starr – Mayweather’s full-time coiffeur – claimed she charged $1,000 (£815) per cut and visits him every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

At the time, Mayweather was bald and had a patchy beard but he has since undergone a full hair and beard transplant, leaving Starr with more to work with.

£5,000 on underwear a year

Rather than washing and reusing his underwear like most people, Mayweather opts to discard his pants after one use.

The eccentric habit sets him back £5,000 a year on boxer shorts while he is said to do the same with his trainers, which prove to be even more costly.

£40,000 on a diamond-encrusted iPod

Back when iPods were all the rage in the early 2010s, Mayweather one-upped everyone by dropping a cool $50,000 (£40,000) on a diamond-bedazzled carrying case.

The case even came complete with a chain to keep it safe – although he probably would have just bought another one if he lost it.

A candy shop in his house

That £21m LA mansion we mentioned earlier comes complete with its own candy shop.

In 2017, Mayweather uploaded a video of himself picking up some sweet treats from his personal store before heading across to his 50-seater Beverly Hills Palace movie theatre to watch some live sports.

£14m watch

‘TBE’s’ one-of-a-kind watch ‘The Billionaire’, is set with 260 carats of emerald-cut diamonds and an 18-karat white gold case.

It is unclear how much Mayweather spent on the extravagant timepiece but it is currently valued at a staggering $18m (£14m).
