'That was crazy' – Confused bare-knuckle boxer attacks referee in 'scary scene' after being knocked out as Conor McGregor is stunned

A bare-knuckle boxer sparked concern as he attempted to attack the referee after being knocked out on Friday night.

Keith Richardson was stopped by Alberto Blas in their title fight at BKFC 62 (Bare-Knuckle Fighting Championship) in Hollywood, Florida.

The win saw Blas become the new BKFC bantamweight champion as he beat Richardson in his first title defence.

And the fight ended in the very first round.

Blas overwhelmed Richardson with a series of punches which left him out on his feet, prompting referee Sam Burgos to step in and end the contest.

Blas ran off celebrating as expected, performing backflips on one side of the ring.

However, on the other, all hell broke loose.

Richardson did not appear to know what was happening when the fight was stopped.

The dazed bare-knuckle boxer continued fighting the man in front of him, which at that point was referee Burgos.

Richardson threw punch after punch in the direction of Burgos, who did well to avoid being KO’d himself.

Fans branded the scene ‘crazy’ and ‘scary’

The referee used his own long reach to keep the fighter at bay and backed off across the ring.

At this point cornermen jumped up onto the ring apron and tried to make Richardson realised the fight was over.

But it was not until people climbed into the ring itself and physically restrained him that he stopped throwing punches.

Once the drama had concluded, BKFC part-ownerConor McGregor took to social media to react.

He tweeted: “The Cuban Flash!!! New Bare Knuckle World Champion Alberto Blas!

“Richardson doesn't know where he is trying to fight everyone around him.

“The Marine came to fight but the Cuban with real blunt force accuracy!

“Wow! THIS SHOW HAS BEEN AMAZING! I hope you have been watching this has been a real treat! I am so happy!”
