Terence Crawford has performed in front of big crowds through the years, but nothing like the one he encountered on Saturday.

The pound-for-pound boxing superstar was tasked with walking out his hometown team, the Nebraska Cornhuskers, for a massive college football game.

Crawford wore a specially made belt to lead the team out

A sellout crowd of 86,906 people crammed into Memorial Stadium to watch Crawford‘s favourite team take on the Colorado Buffaloes in a high-stakes match.

The former undisputed welterweight champion was carrying a different type of belt whilst leading out the Huskers along their 1994 national championship team

It looked like one of the many he'd won in boxing, but on closer inspection, it became clear that the strap was unique because it had the team's logo on it.

Footage from the event shows Crawford sprinting out of the tunnel with the players, who stretched their perfect early season record to 2-0.

The Huskers put on a dominant defensive display to win 28-10 and get revenge for the 36-14 loss they suffered against Colorado last year.

After the game, Crawford shared several pictures and videos from his day on social media, with the caption: "Today was a good day!!! GO BIG RED!!!"

'Bud' saw his comment section flooded with American football fans.

One said: "I knew it was over when I saw Terence walk ’em out."

Another commented: "Need this blown up with the final score for the crib."

A third person added: "Knew we were in trouble when you came out with the belt Champ."

Crawford is currently enjoying some downtime after recently picking up a world championship in a fourth weight class by beating Israil Madrimov in a light middleweight title bout.

The 36-year-old saw his remarkable 11-fight KO streak, which dated back to 2016, come to an end as he earned a debated unanimous decision over the previously undefeated fighter from Uzbekistan.

Canelo Alvarez was expected to be next with a win, but His Excellency Turki Alalshikh claims the Mexican boxing superstar rejected his offer.

As a result, the Saudi boxing chief declared he no longer had any interest in making the fight and instead would look to pit Crawford against unbeaten American star Vergil Ortiz Junior.

Crawford is certainly not short of options. Ryan Garcia recently called him an 'overhyped bum' and said he wants to fight the Nebraska native to prove it.

Only time will tell who Crawford will put his 41-0 record on the line against next.
