'Swing for the fences!' – Michael Bisping tells Francis Ngannou the only way he can beat Tyson Fury

UFC legend Michael Bisping has told Francis Ngannou he has only one chance to beat Tyson Fury – knock him clean out.

Ngannou will enter the boxing ring for the first time next week when he takes on Fury in Saudi Arabia on Saturday night.

There are not many tougher opponents in the world of boxing, but the MMA star has one particular weapon up his sleeve.

Renowned as arguably the heaviest hitter in the UFC, Ngannou will look to utilise his extreme power when he comes face to face with the ‘Gypsy King’.

Speaking to Andy Goldstein and Darren Bent on talkSPORT Drive, Bisping believes the Cameroonian must forget tactics and simply throw some bombs.

He said live on talkSPORT: “Francis Ngannou has incredible power and as we know in heavyweight boxing, one shot can change everything.

“But Tyson Fury, I think he is 35? He is undefeated, he is fast, his reflexes are ridiculous, he can take a good shot as well and he can land a good shot.

“Francis Ngannou has never boxed before. Yes, he has thrown punches in MMA but not to the level of a high-level boxer and certainly not to the level of Tyson Fury.

“I think in the first round or two, he might be dangerous. I think if I am Ngannou, you can’t play a strategic match.

“You can’t go out there and look for openings and all the rest of it. If I was him, I would try engage in a clinch, force him into the corner and then just swing for the fences.

“Because if he tries to use a strategic approach, he is not going to hit anything but fresh air and Tyson Fury will have a field day.”

Fury and Ngannou will settle an old feud that originated in April 2022 after the Gypsy King beat Dillian Whyte.

Ngannou was released by Dana White at the UFC in January and this will be his first fight of any kind since then.

The contest will be fought over ten rounds and will count as an official bout but Fury’s WBC title will not be on the line.

Fury is then finally set to face Usyk in Saudi Arabia later this winter to crown the first undisputed heavyweight champion since 1999.
