Oleksandr Usyk tells Tyson Fury to vacate world title if he can't fight in December after controversial win over Francis Ngannou

Oleksandr Usyk is insistent that his fight with Tyson Fury must happen on December 23.

WBC champion Fury and unified WBA, WBO and IBF title holder Usyk have signed to fight for the undisputed heavyweight championship of the world, with December 23 or January the proposed dates.

On Saturday night, however, Fury emerged from his clash with former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou more battered and bruised than anyone had expected.

‘The Gypsy King’ was dropped in round three and struggled to a controversial split decision win, with many people believing Ngannou deserved the decision.

As such, Fury’s promoter Frank Warren said after the fight that the Brit would need some time to heal up and so the undisputed clash would not be happening on December 23 and it could be delayed until as late as March next year.

But, Usyk does not agree as he told Boxing King Media: “Uncle Frank says some sneaky things.

“We have a contract that says the fight has to take place on Dec 23rd…

“Let Fury vacate his title first, then he can take his rest…

“Tyson – we must fight, we must do it, Dec 23rd. See you in the ring. I love you."

While Fury’s advisers may think it’s a bad idea for him to jump back into another fight so soon, when Usyk confronted him in the ring after his contest with Ngannou, ‘The Gypsy King’ seemed up for the challenge.

After both fighters shouted “Let’s go” at each other, Fury continued: “Let’s go now if you want. It’ll be our next fight guaranteed.”
