Joe Rogan wants Mike Tyson to prove to fans he is fit to face to Jake Paul.

Tyson is set to step back in the ring at the age of 58 in a surprise professional bout with Paul on November 15, despite concerns for his health.

He has been posting small clipped together montages of training footage throughout his return to camp, to show he still possesses the tools to box and even beat Paul.

But fans have doubted his fitness given they are in small clips, and he will need to be fit enough to compete over eight rounds if it comes to it.

UFC pundit and podcaster Rogan has suggested Tyson must now either spar or post a whole round of pad footage to convince the boxing world he is ready for the test.

"I wish he didn't do it. I wish it wasn't a thing," Rogan said on a recent episode of his podcast.

“I wish it wasn't a thing where a 58-year-old guy was going to fight a 27-year-old. That said, I fully support his desire to do it.

“What, is he going to live forever? No, he's not going to live forever. Maybe he wants one more shot at it. Maybe his body can do one more fight.

“I don't know. He looks great on the mitts, but I can look good on the mitts, especially if you're watching 30-second clips.

“What you want to see is him sparring. You want to see him hitting the bag for multiple rounds. Let's see three rounds hard on the bag. I want to see what you can do.

“I want to see how your feet move. I want to see what it looks like if you're off balance when you're throwing combinations."

Tyson hasn’t fought competitively since 2005 and has not been in a full training camp since then despite returning to the gym for an exhibition with Roy Jones Jr in 2020.

His career ended in multiple defeats including retiring on the stool in his final fight against Kevin McBride, having already showed signs of physical decline.

Since then he has continued to be bugged by physical problems, including an ulcer flare up which has already seen him delay the fight once.

Paul has faced questions over whether he had searched for a replacement if he isn’t fit enough to continue, to which he strongly denied.

And Tyson has similarly insisted he is in shape to compete, and has vowed to silence doubters.

“Bet your life on it [he will fight Paul],” he told FOX40 News.

"I'm just looking forward to this. This is something that I would say ignites me. It just gives me a life for myself.

“It's life within myself. It's just me doing what I want to do. Forget everybody else. Forget if they wish I'd lose, win, it's about me doing what I want to do.

"Forget what my wife and kids are, like, thinking about just this one moment, just stick with me and don't feel sorry for me. Don't worry about me. That's all.

"It has nothing to do with my kids. It's all about me. Nothing to do [with them]. And sometimes I wonder, is that bad?

“I'm always going to test myself. I'm always gonna push the envelope. I'm always very nervous and apprehensive until it gets closer to the fight.

“Then, I understand this is reality. I've been through this many of times, and I know how to handle this situation.”
