Jake Paul compares physique to Tyson Fury after opponent Mike Tyson called him 'fat' following weight increase

Jake Paul has insisted his added weight will help him in his showdown with Mike Tyson.

The YouTube star was initially set to face heavyweight legend Tyson in July, but his bout with the 58-year-old has been rescheduled for November 15.

Paul bulked on weight to near 230lbs for the planned clash, and is expected to pile on the pounds again in time for their showdown.

His rival Tyson decided to mock him for his increased weight, suggesting he needed to lose it before their fight.

But Paul has insisted it will benefit him, just like it has during the boxing career of successful current heavyweight Tyson Fury.

He responded on his podcast: “It’s peak male performance bod, and that is fat.

“I mean look at Tyson Fury for example. He is just a big old milk jug and look what he’s done.”

Paul’s maximum weight that he has stepped on the scales for a professional fight is around the 200lbs mark [cruiserweight].

But he could well go beyond that and weigh his career-high mark, in a bid to match the size of natural heavyweight Tyson.

His rival is a far cry from peak physical condition, and has a lost a lot of his shape from back in his heyday.

Tyson carried natural size and power in his prime, but declined before his eventual retirement in 2005.

He has fought just once since, which came against against Roy Jones Jr in an exhibition bout, but it is clear from training footage he still possesses his power.

Paul has astonishingly suggested he can match the legend’s ferocious punch-power, as a result of the extra size.

“I know I will be able to match his power,” he said.

“I’m a natural born heavyweight, this is what I was born to do: move up into this weight class and show Mike who has more power because he is underestimating me and I believe I hit harder.

“I know it’s going to be tough, I know I’m going to have to fight through adversity, I know I might even go to the canvas, I’m scared don’t get me wrong.

“But it’s not about the fear stopping me, it’s about going into it even though I am scared – that is what true bravery is.”
