'I'll punch the f*** out of you' – Former heavyweight boxer who fought Anthony Joshua and was bitten by Derek Chisora is now bailiff threatened in hea

Paul Butlin has seen enough inside the boxing ring that little now scares him outside of it.

The former heavyweight journeyman was chosen as the opponent for Anthony Joshua‘s second professional fight in Sheffield in 2013 – a truly daunting task at the time.

The 6ft 6ins Olympic gold medallist nailed Butlin with a right hand that split open a huge cut above his eye in round two.

Eddie Hearn later described the cut as one of the worst he’d seen in all his years watching boxing.

Despite this though, Butlin valiantly climbed back to his feet while leaking blood and fought on before getting stopped by Joshua 20 seconds later.

A year prior, the journeyman had also been involved in a major controversy during a fight with Derek Chisora.

In the early stages of Chisora’s boxing journey, he twice boxed Butlin and went the distance with him both times.

Midway through their second fight, Chisora bizarrely decided to recreate scenes from Mike Tyson‘s rematch with Evander Holyfield by biting Butlin’s ear.

He was later banned from boxing for four months as a result.

As a result of all of this, when Butlin quit boxing in 2016 with a record of 16-24-1, he did not have any trouble taking up a new career in an often difficult job.

While big name professional boxers can make millions out of the sport and retire freely, most fighters still have to work during and after their careers.

Butlin was paid just £5,000 for his fight with Joshua in 2013, which may well have been his career-highest payday as a pro boxer.

Now, he works as a bailiff.

Butlin has recently gone viral after a clip of him in a heated confrontation while on the job was uploaded to YouTube.

The clip has amassed 1.1million views on the platform and since also been reuploaded on apps such as TikTok, where it has been viewed thousands more times.

In the video, the angry cameraman rages at Butlin for doing his job and delivering a letter to him about an outstanding fine which he refused to pay.

Unaware of who he is talking to, the man threatens to ‘punch the f***’ out of Butlin and tells him ‘I’ll absolutely f***ing annihilate you’.

To his great credit, Butlin remained calm for the majority of the clip and even replied: “I’m not here to fight you, I’m not a fighter mate.”

The video of the exchange went viral

Thankfully the confrontation did not end in violence.

Away from his day job, Butlin has also amassed 25,000 followers on TikTok making videos discussing his career and the current state of boxing.
