Floyd Mayweather has flaunted his luxury lifestyle again, but fans haven’t taken it well.
Mayweather is one of the richest athletes to have ever graced the planet, with an approximate net worth of around $450million [£344m] with earnings in excess of $1.1billion [£841m].
Mayweather showed off piles of money on social media[/caption]Throughout his time in the spotlight, ‘TBE’ has shown off luxury items, plush properties and even posed with wads of cash which has always received a mixed reception online.
And in his latest social media outburst, the 47-year-old has shown fans exactly what material wealth looks like.
Firstly, he posted an Instagram story of huge wads of cash, for which what looks like hundreds of thousands of dollars laid out across the floor.
Shortly after, he has posed on the runway of an airport for the camera, before zooming in on his custom-made private jet which sat there ready to leave.
It was a huge airliner, with silver and gold colouring and the huge letters ‘TMT’ – The Money Team – printed on the back wing.
The jet also had Mayweather written on the side, and he shouted as he turned towards it: “Not bad for a high school dropout.”
Fans weren’t as impressed as many may have thought, with one writing: “He is really insecure as f***.”
Another stated the same, writing: “What a clown, the most insecure person I have ever seen.”
A fan went deeper into the post, adding: “Someone who has to flex is usually self-conscious and feels the need to flex to make themselves feel better in comparison to others.
“This guy is always flexing and is clearly self-conscious about not being able to read.”
One wrote: “Blud thinks he’s inspirational.”
A fan joked: “Will Floyd ever be broke again?”
Two fans were more positive, with the first pointing out: “Mayweather's success is a testament to his drive and skill.
“Dropping out didn't stop him from reaching the top. Impressive, as always!
A final fan concluded: “The greatest boxer of all time showing what he’s earned. Floyd the GOAT.”
Mayweather had huge paydays including for his exploits against Manny Pacquiao and Oscar De La Hoya.
He retired after his final fight in 2017 against Conor McGregor, where he is expected to have earned well in excess of $100m [£76.4m].
The former four-weight champion has since been fighting in lucrative exhibitions since his competitive career ended, earning huge purses for each.
His latest comes against John Gotti III in a rematch this weekend in Mexico, where he will headline a stadium event.
It will be a sequel with surprisingly high tensions given it is in exhibition format, after a mass brawl broke out following his rival’s disqualification at their last event.
