Controversial boxing star Ryan Garcia pulled no punches when asked for his verdict on who would win between Terence Crawford and Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez.

A super fight between the pair looked to be on the cards when Crawford became a four-weight world champion by beating Israil Madrimov to claim the WBA super welterweight title.

HE Turki Alalshikh even confirmed prior to Crawford’s victory he had made an offer to Alavrez for the fight, but the Mexican superstar turned it down.

As a result, the Saudi boxing chief declared he no longer had any interest in making the fight and instead would look to pit Crawford against unbeaten American star Vergil Ortiz Junior.

Despite Alalshikh’s U-turn, it hasn’t stopped Garcia from predicting how a fight between Crawford and Alvarez would have transpired.

Unsurprisingly, Garcia was unequivocal in his verdict and even called out one of the superstars to fight him if he disagreed.

Terence Crawford is not like that,” Garcia told Say Cheese TV.

“Terence Crawford is an overhyped bum. I’m sorry, but somebody has got to say it. You’re an overhyped bum. I’m looking at the camera right now, you f****** suck, bro.

“Stop acting like you’re like that, stop stealing boxing’s money, wasting everybody’s money, you’re not entertaining, you’re boring as f***.

“Come see me in the ring if you think I’m talking s***. I can do it anytime, bro.”

Garcia remains sidelined with a doping ban after failing a drugs test the day before and the day of his fight with Devin Haney in April.

But that hasn’t stopped him from remaining confident a fight against Crawford could take place at some stage.

“I could definitely see Crawford, what you mean?” Garcia said.

“I was one of the best fighters in the amateurs, bro. He was too. I’ve seen many fighters like him. I don’t care if he can take away my left hook, I can find a way to get him.

“He’s not that good. He gets hit a lot, he gets hit and gets wobbled. He’s not untouchable.”

In the event a fight between Garcia and Crawford materialises, it would almost certainly take place at a catchweight.

Garcia has never fought at the 147 lbs welterweight limit or above, while Crawford last fought at super lightweight (140 lbs) in August 2017.

Crawford is also yet to lose in 41 bouts, while Garcia holds a record of 24-1-1 having been stopped by Gervonta Davis and his decision victory over Haney overturned to a no contest due to his positive drugs test.

As for Alvarez, his focus is solely on defending his WBA, WBA and WBO super middleweight titles against Edgar Berlanga on September 14.
