'He got smacked up' – Anthony Joshua rips into 'slob' Tyson Fury after initially being left speechless by Laura Woods question

Anthony Joshua has given a savage assessment of Tyson Fury’s contentious win over Francis Ngannou and branded his rival a ‘slob’.

The Gypsy King was floored and went the distance with the MMA star, who was making his boxing debut, in October.

Despite ultimately winning by narrow split decision, Fury was widely criticised by fans for his performance.

And now, AJ has spoken out about the fight for the first time in a new interview with Laura Woods for TNT Sports.

Joshua was initially left speechless as Woods asked him for one word to describe Fury.

Eventually he answered: “Sometimes I just think, ‘Should I just rip into this geezer and call him every name under the sun, or should I just leave him?’

“One word for Fury? Diva.”

Asked about the Ngannou fight, AJ then said: "I think Ngannou won…

“Bodybuilders up, dossers down. He just looked like a flat slob that can’t fight.

“He said bodybuilders can’t fight, but he got smacked up by one.

“He does a lot of talking, calling me a bodybuilder and stuff, but I had one of my other African pals who’s a bodybuilder step in and smack him up for me…

“Good luck to him, but he’s gotta stop running his mouth because it does come back and bite you."

Regarding how a showdown between himself and Fury would play out, Joshua concluded: “It’d be a good fight.

“[I would win]. I’m too quick, too strong, he can’t lean on me, he can’t throw me about, and I’m explosive.

“I can knock people out, I’d knock a lot of people out.

“It won’t be early, he’s a good fighter, but I’d be there.”
