'He gets better every day' – Deontay Wilder stuns fans with power of his punches as Malik Scott sends warning to heavyweight division

Malik Scott has teased Deontay Wilder’s comeback in new training footage.

Wilder is back in training after his shock loss to Joseph Parker in December 2023, and is in advanced talks to make his return against Zhilei Zhang in June.

The ‘Bronze Bomber’ looks in menacing shape on the pads with coach Scott, letting his hands go with powerful combinations and a stiff jab.

Scott posted the footage on Instagram, with a fierce warning in the caption: “Back on a serious mission with nothing but bad intentions.”

The thunderous shots echoed around the gym, and Wilder be hoping to translate his famous power back into wins in the final stages of his career.

Fans were quick to react, with one writing: “I swear he gets better every single day, what a coachable athlete.”

Another commented: “Wow he still hits SERIOUSLY hard.”

A fan added: “If he punches like this, he wins.”

Others urged him to return to his powerful ways in a fight, with one writing: “I just want him to do this s** on fight night. He seems like he be holding back.

“We want to see that aggressiveness in the ring not in training.”

A viewer was less optimistic writing: “Tries to put too much power into EVERY shot, because that’s all everyone around him has drilled into him how hard he hits.

“Never sets anything up just wants to throw as hard as he can.”

Some even gave advice, with one suggesting: “I want to see him try the lead right hands without the jab, because they know he always starts with his jab, but if he stays balanced, he could shock him with that.”

A final fan even predicted the potential fight with Zhang, replying: “Man this is a tough one, but something tells me Zhang can’t take it the way he gives it.

“If champ’s defence is present we know what that legendary right will do to a southpaw.”

Wilder looked a shadow of his power-punching self in his last outing, with many urging for him to retire following his third career defeat.

But he is now close to finalising a deal to face Zhang according to reports, who also lost to Parker in his previous outing in March.

The ‘Bronze Bomber’ has scored some frightening KOs in his career including most recently against Robert Helenius in October 2022, and he will be hoping for similar if he faces ‘Big Bang’.
