Has Dillon Danis ever fought in the UFC and what's his MMA record? Conor McGregor's training partner set for boxing debut

MMA star Dillon Danis will make his highly anticipated boxing debut against rival Logan Paul, live on talkSPORT this weekend.

The welterweight fighter is best known for being Conor McGregor's training partner but has had a career of his own.

YouTuber Paul has not fought in a boxing match since he took on sporting icon Floyd Mayweather in an exhibition bout in June 2021.

And Danis will look to lean on his extensive combat sports experience when he steps through the ropes for the first time.

Has Dillon Danis ever fought in the UFC?

Danis was the main training partner for McGregor ahead of his decision win over Nate Diaz in their epic rematch in 2016.

The 30-year-old impressed enough to help Notorious prepare for his defeat to Khabib Nurmagomedov.

He infamously goaded Khabib from cage-side which led to the Eagle leaping over the fence after the bout and causing a huge melee.

But Danis has never fought in the UFC himself.

What is his MMA record?

Danis, nicknamed El Jefe, has fought twice in MMA, both times for UFC’s rivals Bellator.

The American is undefeated having secured two first-round submission wins during his professional career.

Danis beat Kyle Walker via a toe hold at Bellator 198 in 2018 before besting Max Humphreys with an armbar a year later at Bellator 222.

He still has two fights left on his Bellator contract and plans to return to MMA once his short boxing stint is over.

Danis is also primarily a Jiu-Jitsu competitor, winning 18 and losing 16 of his jiu-jitsu contests.

In April 2018, Danis made his transition from Brazilian jiu-jitsu to MMA on a Bellator card
