Moses Itauma wants to fight Joseph Parker next, his promoter Frank Warren has told talkSPORT.

The 19-year-old heavyweight prospect is already becoming something of a sensation.

At his young age, Itauma has built a record of 10-0 (8 KOs).

In his last fight, he stopped the famously durable Mariusz Wach in two rounds – faster than anyone had done before.

Warren told talkSPORT Fight Night: “We were talking the last couple of days about his next fight. We’ll be announcing that in the next week or so.

“He’s still a teenager, he’s 19 years of age. But it’s the power he’s got, the strength, and the composure he has.

“He’s got a fabulous jab and that’s what I was really impressed with in his last fight.

“You get a lot of guys, especially big punchers, when they’re enthusiastic and young, they throw their shots and sort of fall in and fall on the opponent, rather than get their distance.

“But he works off his jab and he picks his shots really well.

“And he did that really, really well against a real seasoned tough guy who we expected to get some rounds out of him, he just took him apart.”

Addressing what’s next for Itauma, Warren said: “His next fight – the one he’s told me he wants is Joseph Parker.

“You heard it right. That’s what he said.

“That’s what he was talking about and he said, ‘I really, really fancy that fight.’

“I think it’s a big reality within the next 12 months. If he keeps doing what he’s doing.

“I don’t wanna rush him because he’s obviously very young. And still, as far as maturing as a man, that’s still to come.

“It’s frightening when you think how strong he’ll be when he does that.

“He’s in a hurry and it’s my job and his manager’s job to temper that and pick the right fights at the right time.

“But I’m enthused with his enthusiasm and I’m a big believer.

“We’ve been sponsoring him since he was 15 or 16, we’ve been big believers in him all the way through.

“He’s just an unbelievable boxing prodigy, there’s no doubt about that.”

As it stands, the youngest heavyweight world champion in boxing history was Mike Tyson – who claimed the crown at age 20.

Itauma turned 19 on December 28.

This means he must become heavyweight world champion on or before May 26, 2025 to surpass Tyson.

“That’s his dream, that’s what he wants to do,” Warren said.

“It’s a great ambition to have, but it’s not about that. Boxing’s a marathon, it’s not a 100m dash.

“But the way he’s going and what he’s doing – I wouldn’t say it’s out of the question.”
