Francis Ngannou reacts to Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk postponement by sending cheeky meme to Anthony Joshua

Francis Ngannou wants a shot at all the belts immediately now that Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk has been postponed.

Heavyweight champions Fury and Usyk were set for a unification fight on February 17 before a bombshell announcement on Friday.

Fury suffered a brutal cut above his eye in sparring, forcing the Gypsy King to push the fight back.

It is understood Usyk’s camp expect many months to pass before the bout can be rescheduled due to the extent of the injury – and they are looking for a new opponent on February 17.

The news has ramifications for ex-UFC champion Ngannou, who is set to fight Anthony Joshua on March 8.

It was hoped the winner of Fury vs Usyk would take on the victor of Ngannou vs Joshua later in 2024 for another unification bout.

Reacting to the postponement of Fury vs Usyk, Ngannou posted a viral meme of a man stood awkwardly with his hands in his pockets and wrote: “So me and Joshua for the undisputed title March 8?”

The Cameroonian, who has crossed over to boxing from MMA, stunned the combat sports world with his performance against Fury in October.

Many considered the Gypsy King lucky to escape with a split decision victory after Ngannou floored him.

Joshua, meanwhile, has remained silent on the postponement of Fury vs Usyk.

AJ was hoping to reclaim his heavyweight titles against either Fury or Usyk later this year after back-to-back defeats to the Ukrainian.

It is yet more frustration for boxing fans who have waited more than two decades for a heavyweight unification fight.

While new timelines remain unclear, Fury’s promoter Frank Warren insists the heavyweight division will have an undisputed champion soon.

Asked if he believes the fight will still happen, Warren told talkSPORT: "Of course I do. It's what everybody signed up for.

"It's a huge fight – the biggest fight this century, there's no doubt about that. It's the fight that everybody wanted and because of the Riyadh Season, His Excellency and all his team, that's why the fight is happening and nothing is going to impair it or stop it going on.

"It's unfortunate where we are but we will make sure that it will occur because it's the fight that everybody wants to see."
