Francis Ngannou accuses Tyson Fury of lying about his height during intense face-off

Francis Ngannou has tried to bust the myth about Tyson Fury's height.

The WBC heavyweight champion is thought to be 6ft9in but after recently spending some time around him, Ngannou is convinced Fury is much smaller than he claims to be.

“They say he is 6ft9in," he said during a face-off hosted by TNT Sports.

"I mean, this doesn’t look like [a] five inches difference, right?

"They say I’m about 6ft4in”… I would say you are 6ft5in.”

'The Gypsy King' didn't take kindly to Ngannou questioning how tall he is and responded by suggesting the former UFC titleholder was also embellishing when it comes to height.

Fury replied: "How tall are you? I think you are really about 6ft2in."

Host Carl Frampton – a former two-weight world champion boxer – eased the tension by joking that his height is often oversold as 5ft5in when he is half an inch smaller.

Either way, the Englishman will carry several massive advantages into his fight with Ngannou in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on October 28.

Fury is not only the taller man, but he is also vastly more experienced.

Ngannou will be making his boxing debut on Saturday. He'll face an opponent who has held all four major world titles and is unbeaten after 34 professional fights.

It appears height is the last thing he needs to be worried about.

The Englishman is so confident about beating Ngannou that he has already signed to face WBO, WBA, and IBF titleholder Oleksandr Usyk in a historic undisputed fight.

It's believed Fury vs Usyk could take place as early as December, but a slip-up during a recent interview has some fans convinced April is a more likely date for the match-up.

Ngannou is likely to return to MMA after making millions to fight Fury.

'The Predator' has inked a deal with the Professional Fighters League [PFL] and will continue his MMA career with the UFC’s main rival in 2024.

First, he wants to cause the biggest upset in boxing history this weekend.
