Floyd Mayweather’s spending has continued on a $1 million luxury watch collection.
Mayweather retired from professional boxing in 2017 having pocketed over an estimated $1.2 billion [£900 million] in total earnings, but has continued to fight in money-spinning exhibitions.
Having amassed a huge wealth from his sensational fighting skills, ‘TBE’ lives a luxury lifestyle regularly flaunting his mansions, garments, supercars and huge wads of cash.
But his latest purchase is a huge acquisition even for the cash-flush legend, who has decided to part ways with $1 million [£748,900] for four luxury timepieces.
The 47-year-old has become the first person in the world to own all four of the Avi & Co Hue collection of four gemstone-encrusted watches in four different colours.
The total cost came to $1 million with each collector’s item costing $250,000 [£187,200], a retail price which Mayweather couldn’t refuse.
Prior to the acquisition, the collection was kept in a special edition winder-display box, which was located in New York.
All four watches come in different colours including blue, pink and green, which are made by luxury brand Avi & Co which were founded in 2009.
The creator of the garments regularly supply watches to celebrities, musicians and sports stars having a star-studded client list of the world’s biggest names.
It is reported that Mayweather couldn’t choose between the four colours, so elected to buy all four in the hope that he can wear them on rotation.
Mayweather said after buying the watches: “The Hue collection hits hard.
"People are constantly asking me about my Avi & Co. watches. It just feels right.”
The luxury collection is only owned by Mayweather and is worth $1 million[/caption]It is reported by Forbes that Mayweather already owned seven of the watches, so is building up a rapport with the brand.
Designer Avi Hiaeve said: "He’s a very close friend of mine. We’ve been doing business for a long time and outside of business we are there for each other.
“We talk about other things. He has always been my supporter.”
It is no wonder Mayweather has gone on a fresh splurge, having pocketed a staggering $22.5 million after selling his plush mansion in Los Angeles.
He has also continued to bring in sizeable purses for boxing exploits despite retiring with a perfect 50-0 record.
His most recent outing came against John Gotti III who he dominated in a clash in Mexico.
It is unclear if Mayweather will continue to fight, with a lack of options now appearing for the former five-weight world champion.
