Fans impressed as Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou undercard will include three heavyweight fights and is 'more stacked' than Anthony Joshua or Oleksandr

Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou is set to have a supporting cast of three notable heavyweight fights on October 28 in Saudi Arabia.

The main event has divided boxing fans, but latest news on the undercard has been met with almost universal approval.

Fury’s representative Spencer Brown revealed the updates as he joined ‘THE FIGHT with Teddy Atlas’ podcast this week.

Brown explained that Joseph Parker vs Simon Kean and Martin Bakole vs Carlos Takam will join Fabio Wardley vs David Adeleye on the undercard.

Wardley vs Adeleye was already known to be planned for the event as the British heavyweight rivals clashed on the red carpet at the press conference earlier this month.

The fight had been ordered as a mandatory defence of Wardley’s (16-0) British heavyweight title, but will now be taking place without the belt at stake for Adeleye (12-0) to win as the BBBofC (British Boxing Board of Control) do not sanction it on overseas shows.

Former WBO heavyweight world champion Parker (32-3) trains alongside Fury and will be continuing his comeback following his defeat to Joe Joyce last year.

Parker will face Kean (23-1) after beating Jack Massey and Faiga Opelu earlier in 2023.

And Bakole (19-1) will hope to make further progress with his ascent as a contender against long-time gatekeeper Takam (40-7-1).

Boxing fans on social media reacted positively to this undercard news.

One wrote: “That's actually a stacked card.”

While a second put: “Undercard is gold.”

A third fan said: “This would be the first PPV Fury is involved in that is actually value for money on the undercard.”

And a fourth added: “More stacked card than Anthony Joshua or Oleksandr Usyk’s last fight.”
