Eddie Hearn Changes His Tune On Usyk A Bit

It is is crazy quiet in the sport of boxing at the moment but the one man on top of boxing and sports news is of course Usyk.

Unfortunately the Inoue world title fight on Christmas eve just gone (December 24th) and another world title fight tomorrow on New Year’s eve have both been pulled and postponed at the last minute in boxing.

The big boxing news however is still Usyk after very recently beating Tyson Fury for a second time and without question becoming an all-time great in the sport of boxing.

After the fight boxing promoter Eddie Hearn was hesitant on saying Usyk was an-all time great and needed more defences.

However per Ring Magazine via IFL below he’s changed his mind on that:

“Twitter is a wild place – you start seeing arguments about, ‘Is he an all-time great?’ Yes, of course he’s an all-time great. He went to pretty much everyone’s back yard to unify the cruiserweight division, then he stepped up to heavyweight and beat Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois. The three top heavyweights in the world, he’s beat them all. It’s phenomenal what he’s done. He’s an all-time great. [@IFLTV]”

Dead right too.

Usyk has done it all and seen it all in boxing at this point.

Hopefully he will fight on but if he was to go out on top now and leave with his faculties intact, undefeated and undisputed, what a way to leave the sport it would.
