Dmitry Bivol record: Height, weight, reach, career stats and more as undefeated Russian defends world title on Anthony Joshua undercard

Dmitry Bivol will put his undefeated record on the line when he faces Lyndon Arthur in Saudi Arabia this weekend.

The Russian is bidding to make his eleventh successful defence of the WBA light heavyweight belt on the highly anticipated ‘Day of Reckoning’ card.

Bivol hasn’t been in the ring since November 2022 following a unanimous decision victory over Gilberto Ramirez.

The 32-year-old will still be hoping to steal the show against Manchester-born Arthur on the same card as Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder.

Dmitry Bivol: Debut and fights so far

The WBA light-heavyweight champion was a fearsome prospect in the amateur ranks.

Bivol won a gold medal at the 2013 World Combat Games before turning pro the following year with a dominant 268–15 record.

Despite having close to 300 bouts in the amateur ranks, Bivol never fought at the Olympics due to being Russia’s No 2 behind stablemate Egor Mekhontsev – who claimed gold at London 2012.

Bivol hit the ground running on his senior debut against Jorge Rodriguez Olivera, finishing his first opponent inside six rounds.

That set the tone for him to claim victories over his next five victims by way of knockout before capturing the WBA Interim light-heavyweight world title in his next outing.

The pound-for-pound star was then elevated to status of full light-heavyweight champion by knocking out Trent Broadhurst in his 12th professional fight.

Bivol has defended his coveted gold nine times, most notably beating Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez on points in May 2022.

Canelo, a seemingly unstoppable force at the time, was the favourite going into the bout, but it was the Russian who put on a clinic.
