Deontay Wilder's trainer claims talks have started over a fight with Francis Ngannou after his clash with Tyson Fury

Deontay Wilder’s trainer Malik Scott says that Francis Ngannou is an option for ‘The Bronze Bomber’s’ next fight.

Ngannou’s stock rose in defeat against Tyson Fury on Saturday night, as the former UFC heavyweight champion made his boxing debut and lost by split decision, but many people thought he deserved to win.

Since then, Ngannou has been called out by almost everyone in the heavyweight division, but Scott claims that Wilder is already in talks with ‘The Predator’.

“We're already in communications about it,” Scott told Fight Hype.

"He's an option now, and we're going to see where things go. Yeah, absolutely.”

Scott continued: "Me personally, I believe he's willing to do good business.

"I talked to Deontay about it. I believe he's right there to be hit by Deontay. He's mature and poised, and for a guy with no professional fights as a boxer, he's still big and strong.

“In my opinion, he's very dangerous. He's a high-risk fight for anybody. I believe him being that big, it puts him in line to be hit by Deontay with a bomb.

“We'll write it up to get him out of there if the opportunity comes.”

With that being said, there are also talks that Wilder will fight Anthony Joshua next, with AJ’s promoter Hearn saying that is the fight they want.

As for whether Scott believes Ngannou is better than Joshua, he said: “I would probably go with AJ.

"Francis isn't coming over here beating anybody. Styles make fights, and Deontay would knock Francis out cold, I believe.

“AJ would beat Francis, but Francis would beat a lot of guys in the top 15, 20.”
