Deontay Wilder narrates thoughts in bizarre slow-motion footage from training session

Deontay Wilder has revealed exactly what is going through his mind during a training session.

'The Bronze Bomber' is currently in camp preparing for a fight with former WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker in Saudi Arabia on December 23.

Anthony Joshua will face Otto Wallin on the same card. If AJ and Wilder emerge victorious they will almost certainly square off in a mega-money fight next year.

Ahead of what could be a career-defining bout, Wilder shared a video of him hitting pads with his trainer Malik Scott – but this was no ordinary clip from training.

The former WBC heavyweight champion slowed down the footage and added some thoughts before sharing it with his 2.7 million Instagram followers.

"One step closer, baby," Wilder whispers over the training clip.

"I just gotta keep going. I have five weeks left.

"I've been working so hard day and night. I'll get it right.

"Let's go, baby. You got it. A little bit more focus. A little bit more patience."

Wilder didn't just offer himself words of encouragement, he also admired his handy work during the bizarre post he captioned with three emojis and two hashtags.

He added: "Check it out. There it is. Get him, Tay!

"There you go, baby. Stay calm. Stay focused.

“Your time is here. The time is near.

"Get ready. Set. Go, Wilder!"

The video returns to full speed as Wilder uncorks the signature right hand that made him one of the most prolific punchers in boxing history.

Tyson Fury stood up to Wilder's power to win back-to-back fights against the American before he returned to the win column by putting Robert Helenius to sleep with one shot in October 2022.

More than a year later, he's gearing up for a clash with Parker who has won three fights since being stopped for the first time in his career when he fought Joe Joyce last year.

Parker will be hoping to upset Wilder's planned fight with Joshua and book himself a rematch with the Englishman after being outpointed during their unification fight five years ago.
