Dana White teases UFC super fight, but it won't involve Conor McGregor

UFC president Dana White is currently cooking up a UFC super fight.

The obvious candidate for a huge fight in the UFC would be something involving the organisation’s biggest star, Conor McGregor, but not in this situation.

White is working on a huge fight, but it won’t involve McGregor

Appearing on the Full Send podcast, White was asked if he has any super fights in the works for the next few years and he replied: “There is.

“We’re talking about one right now, actually, that just popped up a few days ago. So, I can’t talk about it.”

Questioned as to whether this fight would involve McGregor, White said: “Well, every fight that you would consider a super fight would involve McGregor, but this one isn’t, no.”

This immediately sparked speculation among MMA fans, with people suggesting: Jon Jones vs Francis Ngannou, a crossover bout between Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis and ‘Suga’ Sean O’Malley and even Elon Musk vs Mark Zuckerberg, but we will have to wait and see…

As for McGregor, he has not fought since July 2021 when he took on Dustin Poirier in a trilogy bout, but he suffered a broken leg in the process.

The Irishman has since recovered from that injury, but he is still yet to return to the Octagon. It is now expected that he will make a comeback in 2024.

Michael Chandler is the most likely opponent for his comeback after they were both coaches on opposing teams on The Ultimate Fighter earlier this year.

UFC 300 is supposed to take place in April and so this could be the perfect time for McGregor to get back to doing what he does best.
